The UK: The Sights, The Cold

I thought about detailing every last and little thing I saw and experienced during the first days of my time in England -- the bus tour and visiting the beautiful Hatfield House (think Downton Abbey, but with whole bunches of amazing art and unique paintings of the illustrious Elizabeth I) -- but I've decided that the pictures will speak for themselves.

If you have questions, please ask. I'd love to share more, but I'm removed enough now from the experience that the pictures can say more than I can on the fly.

Bon voyage!

Okay. I'm about 95 percent positive I'm going to leave my computer with Tuvia and not take it with me to Israel. I was gifted a notebook for journaling, and I think most assuredly that this is a sign (since I have another, as well) that I should be WRITING, not TYPING, my Israel experience. It'll be therapy for me -- someone so plugged in 24/7. But, you know, if there happens to be a computer there for my use? I'll whittle away at my likely ever-growing inbox, never fear.

Catch you all on the other side of the trip! L'hitraot!

I Left it in San Francisco.

Well, I made it to San Francisco and back in one piece. It was a quick trip, but it's about quality, not quantity, and we were definitely heavy on the quality end of things. I got to ride a trolley (scary), see the wharf, the sea lions on Pier 39, eat some fresh fish, eat some In-N-Out, see Sex and the City (on which a post will be written in full), spend some quality time with someone special, take lots of photos, get some delicious dried mangoes, to go the Lefty store, and experience the coolness of the tech side of the valley (we drove by Google! eeep!). There was a lot more in there, but I'm tired, and I can't offer much. I've posted a bunch of the photos to my Flickr Page, so be sure to check those out. Here's a sneak preview:

And until next time, check out this ridiculous Spelling Bee happening, pulled from the one, the only, Tamara!

Look here, she's home.

I'm home now (having just consumed too much piece, WW and G-d forgive me), just so everyone knows. I have oodles to say, some videos to make/post, and lots of thoughts about the whole thing.

I just want to say that I had more complete bliss moments over the weekend than I have in the past few years. Just moments where I could sit back and smile and roll down the windows and blare the music and just be completely okay. I think a lot of what had to do with this was Drive-In movies, Celtic festivals, art shows, and cemetery times.

Barring exhausting amounts of work tomorrow, you'll hear from me. Stay tuned!
